Set high on a rocky kopje overlooking a landscape dotted with spiky palms and bulbous baobabs, Jabali Ridge is a sophisticated base from which to explore Ruaha National Park. The remarkable beauty of Ruaha is not only in the landscape and its diversity of flora and fauna, or the impressive big game, but in the feeling of having the wilderness all to yourself. With only a handful of visitors at any one time in an area the size of New Jersey, this is an exceptional safari experience.
Jabali Ridge’s 8 suites are hidden amongst the rocky boulders that cocoon the property. An infinity pool, spa and plenty of places to laze ensure that time off is as memorable as time out in the bush. Expert guides lead walking safaris, game drives and night drives.
With views over Ruaha from every corner of the room, the guest suites are designed to maximise the stunning landscape beyond. Be it from the bed, the desk or the bathroom, every space is a viewpoint and open to nature. Louvered shutters can be opened completely, blurring the lines between building and nature, or closed for privacy. King sized beds are the perfect place for an afternoon siesta, or simply relax outside on your private deck. Bathrooms are fully equipped with rain showers and flushing toilets.
Guided game drives are offered twice a day from Jabali Ridge. Our six-seater game-viewing vehicles are open-sided with a canvas roof; canvas sides can be rolled down in case of rain (rain ponchos are provided). All vehicles have power points where you can recharge your devices, and are fitted with fridges to keep your drinks deliciously frosty. A private game-viewing vehicle can be booked by prior arrangement. In the morning, maximise your game-viewing time by taking a delicious breakfast picnic with you to enjoy under the shade of a tree. In the evening, sip a cold gin & tonic in the heart of the bush as the sun sinks below the horizon.
When the sun descends, the elusive night animals come out to play. Explore the secrets of these shy creatures on a night game drive from Jabali Ridge.
A walking safari is one the most intimate ways to experience the bush and can be enjoyed from Jabali Ridge with an experienced armed guide and local tracker. Eye-to-eye with the wildlife, your senses are heightened and the sights, sounds and smells of the bush come alive.
Take to the skies and soar in a hot air balloon over Ruaha National Park at sunrise one morning. This is a really spectacular way to start the day and see the park from an entirely different perspective. You will be picked up in the early hours before sunrise, transferred to the balloon launch site and have a safety briefing, before taking flight and travelling low along the Great Ruaha River. On reaching the confluence with the Mwagusi River, the pilot will take the balloon high up and travel back, enjoying incredible aerial views of the baobab forests, rivers, kopjes and wildlife below. On landing you will be treated to a fully cooked bush breakfast with sparkling wine, before you are transferred back to your camp. The balloons accommodate up to 12 people and no under 7’s due to safety.
NB. Only available in the dry season between June and end of October each year. At additional cost, and subject to availability.

" Ruaha’s most luxurious lodge. Rooms are large, spacious and all face the receding sun."
