Wild & Isle Review

“Nehimba is a special place. It forms a part of the largest private concession within Hwange National Park. There is so much mystery surrounding the camp that you can feel it when you drive in. In the dry season, there are elephants everywhere! The concession draws them past a very special plain which includes an area called “The Seeps”. For centuries this area has drawn people and elephants to dig for a layer of water just under the surface as it was the sole providing source of water. One can see these seeps and holes all around you on the plain. This in turn leads to some impressive lion sightings in the area.

After returning from your game activity in the afternoon it is highly advisable to pull up a chair on the wooden deck, around the fireplace. The waterhole, on which Nehimbe is built, is totally and teeming with elephant herds! They surround you. It becomes a very peaceful and nirvana like stage. This experience in itself is worth the journey to Africa. In fact they drink out of the lodges swimming pool at the edge of the wooden deck and are literally in touching distance with you!

Nehimbe has a great compliment of staff and some incredible and interesting rangers that will have you enthralled for your entire time at Nehimbe Lodge. The rooms are large and comfortable, all with great views onto Nehimbe’s waterhole. If an experience is what you are after, Nehimbe is your place!”

    "Safari June 2018"
My family stayed at this camp for 2 nights in June and did 3 game drives. Large rooms that were very luxurious. The camp surrounds a water hole and elephants came and visited each evening. I also spent an afternoon having a beer on my own porch watching zebras and impalas. Our guide was very knowledgeable and personable. It was very interesting talking with him as he is from the bush and that gave us an interesting perspective. The service was great and they even sent us with a bag lunch for our travels to Victoria Falls airport. I am not that particular about food but I thought it was very good (I only gave it a 4 because I am probably not the best one to judge)

We enjoyed our stay here at Nehimba Safari Camp. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The food was delicious. Our guide, B, was knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk with and learn from. One of the highlights of Nehimba was watching the elephants jockey for position at the fresh-water hole in front of the main lodge while enjoying dinner and sitting around the campfire. We would definitely recommend staying a couple of nights at Nehimba Safari Camp.
