Khwai Private Reserve, Botswana
Skybeds accommodates guests on 3 platforms, 5 meters off the ground. All platforms have twin beds, with an extra bed available for children over the age of 12 years, sharing with their parents. Bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, Khwai River and Chobe National Park, this is considered one of Botswana’s finest game viewing areas.
With such spectacular skies overhead, you could be forgiven for forgetting about what’s happening on the ground. The Skybeds overlook a water hole—in one night we’ve seen wild dogs, lions, elephants and hyena! Don’t forget to keep an eye (and ear) out for elephants, eland, zebra and kudu, and an assortment of smaller nocturnal species, such as porcupines, bushbabies, genets, jackals and honey badgers. We can’t guarantee you will get much sleep, as there will be far too much to watch and listen to, but what a story to tell back home. During the day, you can head out for a game drive in the private reserve, where you may spot lion, leopard, wild dog, kudu, waterbuck, red lechwe, eland, impala, roan, buffalo, warthog and much more.
What Will I Do Here?
• Morning & afternoon game drives on a 200,000 hectare private concession and along the Khwai River. Our ground level hide, just 10 meters from a busy waterhole affords the opportunity to capture Africa’s big game.
• Guided Bush Walks and sundowners on game drives.
