Garden Route

Sandwiched between the Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma Mountains and the glistening Indian Ocean, this lush 300km stretch of coastal plain between Mossel Bay and Storms River Mouth provides one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Our visitors typically base themselves at the heart of the Garden Route – either in Knysna (complete with its scenic lagoon) or neighbouring Plettenberg Bay (famous for its excellent beaches) – and then spend a few days exploring the diverse array of surrounding attractions. Whether you are seeking pristine, uncrowded white-sand beaches, world-class golf courses, ancient forests, renowned surf spots, extraordinary nature reserves, excellent hiking opportunities or exhilarating outdoor adventure such as bungee jumping or ziplining, the Garden Route has it all.

If you’re looking to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind, the Garden Route is the perfect place to lose yourself. Catch a sight of the whale migration, the thrill of shark cage diving or just a peaceful hike through the mountains. Either way, you will never forget the Garden Route.

Self drive or fully guided… let’s make it happen!

It is so named for its natural bounty and beauty. Verdant indigenous forest, secluded lagoons and stunning beaches, rugged crags and striking gorges covered in aloes and fynbos, picturesque farmland patchworks and towering mountain peaks create a stunning backdrop for an incredible range of holiday and leisure activities.

Malaria-Free
