1 Step 1

During the Whale Season (Early Spring) this becomes one of our most popular tours. In September, the Southern Right Whales make their way to Walker Bay in Hermanus to harbour and nurse their calves for a period of 2 months. Hermanus, due to its amphitheatre style cliffs, makes it one of the best places in the world to view these magnificent creatures.

The Hemel-en-Aarde (Heaven and Earth) Valley, on the fringe of Hermanus, unites three wine wards with a reputation for exceptional quality, small production and cool-climate wines. The valley boasts world-renown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as some of South Africa’s best Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz. If time permits, let us take you for a wine tasting on the way back!

Hermanus is home to the beautiful Fernkloof Nature Reserve which holds over 1600 different plat species. Want to hike it? Ask us to tailor a tour for you to include it!

On this tour you have the option of viewing whales from land. If you want to get up close and personal then we recommend either doing a boat based viewing on a chartered boat or, for the more adventurous, an ocean kayaking experience (observing without disturbing) with a professional guide.

After lunch, we will head back to Cape Town along Clarens Drive, rated in the Top 5 most scenic drives in the world, which meanders through Kleinmond, Betty’s Bay, Pringle Bay, Koel Bay, onwards to Gordons Bay and back to Cape Town

Whale Watching in Hermanus is seasonal. Whales are wild animals and therefore we can’t guarantee that they will be there from one day to the next. However, we promise to give updates on the presence of whales during the season or upon your enquiry.

If you book Shark Cage Diving Tour with us and include private transfers to and from Cape Town, we would be happy to take you into Hermanus to grab a cup of coffee and sit on the cliffs to watch the whales when they arrive in Spring.
