East Africa, which includes nations like Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda, is referred to as the “cradle of mankind” since it is where the first species of the Homo genus evolved. With the well-known African flora and wildlife, the African Great Lakes, and the majority of the continent’s largest mountains, East Africa is renowned for its savannas. With rainforests, savannas, and deserts, the climate is tropical (except from the higher mountains, where snow can occasionally be seen).
Wildlife and nature enthusiasts flock to Africa every year to witness the Great Wildebees Migration, which involves the travel of over a million animals. The animals travel through the Serengeti and Masai Mara each year after calving. While thousands of creatures are killed by predators, thousands more are born, replenishing the population and maintaining the cycle of life. Exhilarating sights and memories are guaranteed to be experienced along the way.
Take a journey of Africa that takes you through national parks where you can see the Big Five, or take in Zanzibar’s stunning, unspoiled beaches.
Below are a few of our most popular routings around East Africa. We work across all budgets and love finding our clients excellent value for money when they need it. For a tailor-made travel package, please contact us.

Kenya and Uganda 2025
A fantastic itinerary that combines the scenic beauty of Amboseli National Park, with its famous herds of elephants and views onto Mount Kilimanjaro, with the high concentrations of the Masai Mara. Within the Masai Mara we have used a combination of two camps, one in the National Park and one in a conservancy allowing for greater privacy and flexibility in terms of your game viewing experience.
Finally you finish off in Uganda tracking gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A “once in a lifetime” experience being in the company of these giants.
Kenya - Chyulu Hills and Masai Mara
A luxurious itinerary with one of our favorite safari companies in Africa – Great Plains Conservation. Not only does GPC operate in some of the best private conservancies in all of Africa but their guiding, service levels and food are exemplary. Their commitment to conservation, skills development and community upliftment ensures that wildlife in their areas are thriving.
Your first three nights are spent in Chyulu Hills, close to the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro and the land of Africa’s great tuskers. It is also arguably the best location for a horse riding safari with other special activities including biking, photography, game drives and walking/hiking. From Chyulu Hills you will move onto the magnificent Masai Mara National Park and GPC’s Mara Expedition Camp, home of the singing kitchen. The camp is luxurious and tented and has traversing rights in both the National Park and the Mara North Conservancy. This is hugely beneficial as guests are able to visit the migration crossings over the Mara and Talek rivers but also find privacy in the conservancy.
Finally you finish off in the stunning and new Mara Toto Camp built on stilts above the ground and set along the river’s edge amongst Ebony trees the camp offers incredible views over the National Park and Ntiakitiak River.
Southern Tanzania
With only a tiny fraction of the overall visitors to Tanzania exploring the Southern safari regions means that a visit to these national parks are devoid of crowds and still carry a feeling of true wilderness.
Game viewing is superb over the dry season with Ruaha National Park holding 10% of Africa’s current lion population as well as good numbers of leopards and other predators. Formerly known as Selous Game Reserve, Nyerere National Park is a huge game reserve stretching over 30,893 square kilometers with all of the usual wildlife found around Tanzania and good numbers of the threatened African Wild Dog.
Built into the itinerary is also time at Greystoke Mahale on the shores of Lake Tanganyika. Greystoke Mahale gives the feeling of being in your own Swiss Family Robinson adventure. The drawcard here is undoubtedly the ability to track and spend time with the local chimpanzees. Other activities include fishing, boat cruises and hiking.
