What is the KAZA UniVisa?
The Kaza UniVisa is a visa that is available to 65 nations and allows visitors to Zimbabwe and Zambia to cross the borders, of these two countries, as many times as they like over a period of 30 days. As of 2017 the governments print 50,000 unified visas for foreign visitors to their countries. It also allows for day trips into Botswana to view attractions such as the Chobe National Park, provided you return to Zimbabwe or Zambia that same day.
What does KAZA stand for?
KAZA stands for Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area. This is an area that encompasses the Okavango and Upper Zambezi areas of Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. It is a Transboundary Natural Resource Management Initiative that makes use of a mutually beneficial relationship between nature and humans to protect natural resources of an area while at the same time economically benefiting the local population.
What is the difference between a normal VISA and the KAZA UniVisa?
Your standard tourist VISA will allow you to stay in only one designated country for a period of 90 days, but only in that one designated country. The KAZA UniVisa is valid for 30 days but allows you to cross between the two countries, Zimbabwe and Zambia, as many times as you like in that time.
